Legal
Three documents. The third is the one that matters for outbound.
Privacy
What we process: the domains and numbers you send, and the contact data we return. Who processes it with us: the email verification and HLR providers behind the lookups, and the payment processor as merchant of record. What we keep: the credit ledger and your account record. What we do not keep: your lookup history, on any tool. Data subject requests go to the operator of this service. Retention follows the life of the credit ledger record. We do not sell contact data.
Terms
How the meter works and when a credit is committed. Reservations and their release. No refund on consumed credits. Acceptable use, and the uses we refuse (consumer reverse lookup, harassment, list-building without a lawful basis). Your responsibility to keep the API key secret, and to rotate it under API key if it leaks. The payment processor is merchant of record for every payment. Changes to the service, and the limits of our liability to the fees paid in the previous thirty days.
ePrivacy and outbound
Pequod returns technical verification signals and nothing more. Sendable does not mean legal to send. A send verdict on a number does not establish consent and is not TCPA, DNC, TPS or CTPS clearance. HLR reachability says the line is live, not that you may call it. You are the controller of your outbound: the legal basis, the suppression lists you must honour, and the records of consent are yours to hold. We make no compliance promise, in any jurisdiction, and nothing on this site is legal advice.
